Effective Reading is understanding and gaining information form texts of different genres using techniques to increase reading comprehension, vocabulary, understanding of complex grammatical structures, social context and background, and writer-reader communication.

Reading is a critical skill necessary for success in language tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Cambridge English Proficiency, and in the professional and academic worlds. Our program emphasizes the significance of developing effective reading skills, including strategies such as skimming, scanning, analyzing information, note taking, summarizing and paraphrasing.

Skimming is reading a text quickly to get a general idea of the message, while scanning searches for specific pieces of information within it. Analyzing involves examining the structure and organization of a text to identify key ideas, make inferences, and draw conclusions. By employing these techniques, candidates can develop their reading comprehension, increase their vocabulary, and understand complex grammatical structures.
